Kelvingrove museum and art gallery is a very special place for generations of glasgow people and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Kelvingrove first opened its doors to the public on 2 May 1901 when it formed a major part of the Glasgow International Exhibition. Its collections came mainly from the McLellan Galleries and from the City Industrial Museum, which had been opened in 1870 in the former Kelvingrove Mansion.
Kelvingrove it is the largest museum and art gallery in the UK, with collections of international importance.
First Floor galleries Italian and Dutch Art, French Art,Madonna,and Sculputurs.
Ground Floor
Mini Museum for children the art discovery centre and the environment centre feature galleries displays.Animals of the past, Ancient Egypt, Glasgow Style.
Lower Ground Floor
Campbell Hunter Foundation Gallery, the Conference Room, and the café-restaurant and shop.
